The process to join GallupCAP!
The admissions process to join our unit and the CAP is relatively simple, but please keep in mind that joining CAP is not a "right". It is a privilege. Not everyone qualifies to join. In basic terms the admissions process is:
- Come to a meeting and see what we do and ask questions. You cannot join at the first meeting.
- Come to 2-3 more meetings so that you can really see what we are all about and also so we can see if you would be a good fit for us.
- Once you decide to join and if we will accept you, simply fill out a page application and submit a check made out to "Civil Air Patrol" for $35.00 for Cadets and $65.00 for adults. Adults also need to have their fingerprints taken on a special CAP/FBI fingerprint card which we have in stock and you can get at a meeting. It MUST be on the fingerprint card we provide you. NO OTHER FINGERPRINT CARDS CAN BE ACCEPTED!
- Once the application is sent in, you are a member and you should receive your new member kit from the CAP National Headquarters in about 2 weeks.
